Welfare Officer
[email protected]
Name: Suvarna Netke
From: Wolverhampton, West Midlands (the good ol’ Black Country)
Favourite Leicester Venue: Freemans Nando’s (next to uni). Nothing quite beats leaving the GDC with your mates and tucking into some peri-peri deliciousness to forget your woes.
Fond Med School memory: A personal highlight has got to be the Oadby shuttle bus antics, namely consistently sprinting red-faced to the shuttle bus in my first year, leaving behind every shred of dignity. My personal best was probably around the 2 min mark, but don’t quote me.
Top tip for freshers: Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there when signing up for things. If the Panny-D has taught us anything it’s that life is way too short to hold back from getting involved in things that take your fancy, so just go for it.
An (overly) proud Midlands gal to her core, Suvarna will often be found procrastinating, eating or trying to get her life together. That aside, she has recently developed a newfound passion for HSM dance workouts, so watch out (quite literally) for her dance moves during INTROweek. A soon to be 3rd year, she is excited to be your welfare officer this year, having particular pride in her ability to give out sound pep talks (if you’re ever in need of one, say when and she’s got you covered!). Alternatively a mutual vent/‘eat your feelings way’ sesh is something she’s always down for. Do give her a wave if you see her or contact her via email: [email protected]
