Introweek ball
The INTROweek ball takes place on the Friday of INTROweek, after a week of fun filled going out and meeting new people!
Last year it began at 7pm, with everyone mingling and getting beautiful photos outside in the picturesque garden - essentially making memories from the start of medical school to last a lifetime.
The freshers formal was short and sweet, with a 2 course meal and some iconic awards being given out for freshers who had stood out for for various funny and admirable moments through out the week! Most people then went off to pres and a night out at the O2 to carry on the night.
Dress code: 'Sort of' formal 😉 (dresses and suits)

Winter Formal Ball
This year's winter ball took place on the 14th March, with 300+ tickets being sold (a strong indicator that this event is not one to miss!).
The evening began at around 6:30/7 pm, with food served shortly after, and then the event continued until 1/2 am. Additionally, the event is open to all years, so keep your eyes peeled for your medic parents!
The 2020 Winter ball involved:
- A swanky 3 course meal which caters for all dietary needs (halal options, gluten free option, vegan options available)
- Bottle of wine or a non-alcohol alternative per person
- Professional photographer throughout the night to capture you looking at your finest!
- Photo-booth
- Entertainment in the form of the University of Leicester's Big Band
- DJ to help you dance away the night
- A surprise rhythmic gymnastics performance
Dress code: Black tie (dress to impress!)
Theme: Masquerade

Halfway ball and Graduation ball
Halfway ball 2020This years Halfway formal took place on the 25th January, with celebrations kicking off at 9pm and continuing on until 12:30. This night celebrates all you have achieved these past 2.5 years, and so is not one to miss. Put on your dresses, shirts & ties and get ready for a wonderful night with your year!
Dress code: smart (cocktail dresses & shirts) Involved: - 2 drinks (wine/beer/spirit + mixer) - Canapes & nibbles - Music & dance - Access to the afterparty (Club Republic!) - Funny themed awards being given to a lucky few folks! |
Graduation ball
Graduation ball usually takes place in late June and put simply, is the greatest celebration for all the new doctors from UoL! It marks a great end of the year, and is your final opportunity to scrub up, and hit the dance floor with your whole cohort, so make sure to save the date. |
Summer Ball
The summer ball usually takes place towards the end of May, during Outroweek. The evening usually starts at around 7pm, going on until 1/2am.
The 2019 summer ball involved:
- Indian buffet which will suit your needs (halal options, gluten free option, vegan options available)
- Amazing drink deals
- A photo-booth throughout the night
- Entertainment in the form of the University of Leicester's Indian Dance Society
- Professional DJ to take you into the early hours of the morning.
Dress code: smart/ casual
The 2019 summer ball involved:
