Leicester Medics Tennis Club
We're a friendly group of over 50 medics who love to play tennis! We welcome all abilities from complete beginners to seasoned pros. We have regular training, socials and tournaments to keep you busy. Come and say Hi to us at our stall at the Freshers fair or our table at Sports night. We'll also be running a give it a go session for you to come and see what we're all about.
We've got loads planned for 22/23 and you're not going to want to miss out.
Training: Wednesdays: 5-7pm at Victoria Park Courts, LE1 7PA
Sundays: 1-3pm at Roger Bettles Sports Centre, Oadby, LE2 2LL
Training is open to all abilities and features training drills, rallies and matches. We provide racquets & balls so if you don't have your own don't worry! Feel free to just turn and and we'll show you the ropes. We understand that medicine can be a demanding course at times so you don't have to come to every session, but we would encourage you too for your daily dose of endorphins!
Tournaments: This year is Leicester's turn to host Varsity, the annual sports competition against Nottingham Medics. We won the tennis last year winning all six matches and will be looking to repeat that this year.
Socials: We love a good social! Whether it's themed nights out, sober socials or pub trips after training we're always up to something. We're a fun, laid back bunch and we're sure you'll fit right in. Here's just a few of the socials we'll be hosting this year: - Sports Night! - Mixed Racquet Sports Bar Crawl - Christmas Meal - Where's Wally? - Fancy Dress - Bowling - BBQs - Karaoke
