Leicester PsychSoc
As Psychiatry Society we hope to raise awareness of mental health conditions within the university and the wider community, as well as showing students what a career in psychiatry could be like.
We run events all year round to fulfill our four main aims:
- To promote psychiatry as a career
- To help you with exam revision
- To raise awareness about mental health conditions
- To fight the stigma associated with mental illness
Some of our events include lectures given by psychiatrists and other mental health professionals about recognising and treating important mental health conditions, revision sessions and psychiatry quizzes, wellbeing events to discuss taking care of our mental health as medical students, and hosting qualified and training psychiatrists to explain what a career in psychiatry is like, as well as answering your questions about the field.
If you'd like to find out more about mental health conditions or just take a break from university to come have a cup of tea with us at one of our wellbeing events, please come along! Membership to our society and attendance at our events is completely free and takes place in a fun and relaxed environment.
If you'd like to be added to our mailing list to be kept up to date with our events, then please send us an email. Also, make sure you like/follow our Facebook/Instagram pages to be the first to hear about our events and be exposed to interesting videos and articles about mental health and/or psychiatry. Thank you so much, and we look forward to seeing you!
