Leicester PsychSoc

As Psychiatry Society we hope to raise awareness of mental health issues within the university and the wider community, as well as showing students what a career in psychiatry could be like.
We run events all year round to fulfill our three main aims:
- To promote psychiatry as a career
- To raise awareness of mental health issues
- To fight the stigma associated with mental illness
Some of our events include interactive debates about controversial or interesting issues, our regular 'Movies for the Mind' evenings where we show a film to do with psychiatry and discuss it over snacks, and hosting qualified and training psychiatrists to explain what a career in psychiatry is like as well as answering your questions about the field.
If you'd like to find out more about mental illness or take a break from university to enjoy a film, come along to one of our events! Membership to our society and attendance at our events is completely free and take place in a fun and relaxed environment.
If you'd like to be added to our mailing list to be kept up to date with our events then send us an email. Also, make sure you like our Facebook page to be the first to hear about our events and be exposed to interesting videos and articles about mental health and/or psychiatry!
