With the old committee out, another one is in!
Over the next few weeks there are going to be some changes on here! Updating old pages, adding new ones. Please be aware that some of what's on here right now might not be the most up to date.
Thank you to the outgoing LUSUMA Committee of 2023/2024.

15/03/17: Ladies, gentlemen, I bid you adieu.
Medic's varsity is this coming Saturday, marking the current LUSUMA Committee of 2016's final event. This also marks an end to my time on the LUSUMA committee (to my housemates' relief). There have been many good times, some bad, and plenty of mistakes to learn from over these last two years. I can safely say without the benefit of a doubt that this experience has made my time at medical school some of the best times I've had (cliché I know). There have been times of laughter, smiles, stress, and tears - both happy and sad.
Intro-week has been my favourite part of these past 3 years. Getting to meet so many people has been an absolute blessing, and part of me wishes I had applied for a third term to witness it all again. Many challenges have come, some with regrettable outcomes. I hope many people have benefitted from LUSUMA's work during these past two years. Some interactions especially in my year as VP have been less than ideal. Whilst I cannot take them back or redo them, I have learnt from them for the future. I would like to thank both committees of 2015 and 2016 for all the memories. This experience has taught me that any group of people can gel together and have a great time. Even though the elections have concluded for the new committee of 2017, I truly recommend any and all to join the LUSUMA committees of the future. To the committee of 2017, I wish the best of luck. I trust the continuing committee members will strive for success and growth of LUSUMA like never before. |

09/09/16: Introweek is just around the corner
Less than a fortnight to go before we welcome the newest Leicester Medics. I am especially buzzing for MTP and PJPC. The fun begins even before introweek, with the fantastic Chem week and Meet the Grads on September 16th. It'll be nice to be amongst people my age again.
Chemweek and Introweek planning is coming along nicely, and hopefully the revs cards will arrive soon. This also means everyones LUSUMA card will also function as a revs card! The website is now live, with a few tweaks and additions still coming. (Just need LMWRFC and Ski trip to update their page). -Tom (Vice President 2016/17) |
19/03/16: New webmaster
It has been 2 weeks since the election results of LUSUMA 2016/17. With that in mind I bid farewell to Webmaster and hand it over to Connor Putnam, who is far more experienced that I ever was.
That doesn't mean you'll be rid of me just yet as I have been upgraded to Vice President. I will continue to work on this alongside Connor to ensure launch goes as smoothly as possible. To the rest of the committee, I look forward to working with you all this year to plan some cracking socials and balls, and in particular my third introweek. -Tom (Vice President 2016/17) |
16/10/15: Website exits alpha
So shiny!!!
This site will hopefully be LUSUMAs new home on the interweb. With the new Centre for Medicine under construction, and UoLs new logo, now is the time to revamp LUSUMAs online presence. The refurbishment brings LUSUMA to the modern age, while making my life much easier by not having to learn how to code php. The website is still in the works and subject to many new and exciting changes. Many thanks to Jake Melhuish of UEA Medsoc for introducing me to Weebly. Hope you enjoy the new site, don't break it please. -Tom (Webmaster 2015/16) |
