Name: Lauren Gurr
From: Nuneaton (Sunny Nunny)
Fave Leicester venue: I’m a sucker for cheesy 90’s and 00’s songs so its hands down got to be the O2 on a Wednesday for a bit of letsdisko.
Fond Med School memory: Literally just being able to interact with other people all the time RIP
Top tip for freshers: If you live in London and are catching the train home, don’t go straight from Leicester. Go to Nuneaton first. It only adds 20 ish mins to the journey but can be way cheaper!
Lauren is your sports sec for this year so will be responsible for organising the medics sports teams, sports night, sports awards and varsity - one of the biggest events of the year.
She plays medics badminton, tennis and women’s football and is easily recognisable by her unsightly knee brace that is pretty terrible at stopping her falling over. If you ever need a laugh, just go and watch her try and play!
Over lockdown Lauren has developed a new found love of home bargains, seriously contemplating buying the home bargains edition of monopoly. In her house you’ll find an entire room completely decorated by 50p kids crafts that she bought whilst high on adrenaline from actually being allowed to leave the house.
If you ever want to chat about sports, medicine or anything else in general, Lauren can therefore be found on the floor of a sports pitch, in home bargains or on [email protected].
